There are two breed standards for the Burmese cat, the European, and the American. The European standard presupposes 10 colors: brown, blue, chocolate, red, cream, lilac, brown tortie, blue tortie, chocolate tortie and cream tortie. The American standard admits only three variations: platinum, champagne and sable.
