It was a female cat, named Wong Mau, who was mated with a Siamese Seal Point. The crossing resulted in the appearance of kittens of several colors, from which a brown-coated species was chosen for further development, and this color is more common for these cats at this time.

First ancestors of these cats lived hundreds of years ago in Burma and Thailand, and were kept by monks as pets. They featured a strong built body and a slick coat. The first cat of this type was brought to America in 1930 by Dr. Thompson. The Burmese breeder will have the adult cat available for you to check out before selecting one of their kittens.
