European Burmese Cats

There are two standards of coloration of the species. The American standard accepts only Sable, Champagne and Platinum color varieties, and in the Old World this range is broader, including Cream, Red, Brown-tortie, Blue-tortie, Chocolate-tortie and Black-tortie. These cats have glossy short hair, and they do not require much grooming.

These cats originated in Asia and southern Tibet, particularly in Burma and Thailand. Historically their predecessors were known to be loved by ancient priests and monks, who kept them as pets due to their faithful personality, and modern species seem to have inherited this feature from their ancient fathers.
